Madonna just shared a rare family photo from her Thanksgiving celebrations.
“We are born into families and we create our own,” the 66-year-old wrote on Instagram below a carousel of photos that included snaps of her six children, her 93-year-old father, Silvio Ciccone, and her rumoured boyfriend Akeem Morris. “As time goes by I am more and more appreciative of these microcosms of life that Dance around me and teach me lessons every day.”

As noted by E! News, it’s been a difficult year for Madonna and her family after she lost her stepmother Joan Ciccone in September, and then her brother, Christopher Ciccone, in October. She opened up about their losses in the same Instagram post.
“My family has experienced many losses this year,” the singer continued. “My father has endured with Dignity. Watching him cry in the cemetery when we buried my brother Christopher – right after he lost his wife. Was a moment I will never forget. Spending time with him and all my children on Thanksgiving was Medicine for the Soul.”
