Ana de Armas, star of Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde and formerly linked to J.Lo’s ex Ben Affleck, was spotted in Madrid kissing Manuel Anido Cuesto, the stepson of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel

The holidays are on the horizon, and it looks like Knives Out star Ana de Armas will have someone to kiss under the mistletoe. The Cuban-Spanish actress was recently spotted cosying up to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel’s stepson Manuel Anido Cuesta, who reportedly planted a kiss on her lips while they were out for a stroll in Madrid.

The apparent couple have been linked since May, according to the Latin Times, but with De Armas’ preference to keep her relationships off the radar, it is no surprise that we’re only hearing about their romance now.

The 36-year-old Blonde star dated Tinder executive Paul Boukadakis for almost three years, but it’s widely known that her highly scrutinised relationship with Ben Affleck changed her perspective about going public with her partners. She moved away from the flashing lights of Los Angeles and has since settled down in Vermont, where she owns a US$7 million mansion, per Page Six.

So, what do we know about the man who might catapult De Armas’ personal life back into the spotlight? Meet Manuel Anido Cuesta.

Manuel Anido Cuesta was born on November 3, 1997, in Holguín, Cuba. He is the stepson of Miguel Díaz-Canel, who holds two of the most powerful positions in Cuba’s totalitarian government as both the president of the country and the secretary general of the Communist Party of Cuba. Díaz-Canel was named successor by previous president Raúl Castro – the first person outside the Castro family to hold the roles since the Cuban revolution.

Cuesta’s mother Lis Cuesta Peraza is Díaz-Canel’s second wife. She previously worked in tourism. Cuesta’s father, José Anido Pérez, is a university professor.

He is reportedly an “adviser” to his stepfather
