Who is Pete Davidson’s mum, Amy Waters Davidson? She lost her husband in 9/11 and raised her comedian son on Staten Island; she’s also been on SNL and made a burner Twitter account to defend Pete
The comedian was seen with his mum at a Brooklyn Nets game, a day after a report alleged that he was in rehab following a brief romance with Bachelor alum Maria Georgas – a rumour Georgas has debunked
The reality TV star was quick to clear the air, however, writing on her Instagram Story that she has never dated the King of Staten Island actor but was friends with his younger sister. She went on to write in a second post that Davidson has been sober for months and has not relapsed. “Can’t believe this s*** – it’s very insulting to his recovery and my mental health,” Georgas wrote.
She is a widow
Amy Waters was married to Scott Matthew Davidson, a firefighter who lost his life during the evacuation of the doomed New York Marriott World Trade Center hotel on 9/11. Amy and Scott raised Pete and his sister Casey on Staten Island, New York.
Pete, who was seven years old when his dad died, suffered tremendously from the loss. During a 2015 interview with The New York Times, he and his mum revealed that Pete began acting out at school and once ripped all his hair out.
She always supported her son’s career
After his dad’s passing, Pete Davidson found some relief in comedy. His mum Amy was supportive of his stand-up career from the start, and would drive him to comedy clubs in Manhattan, according to Pinkvilla.
