Who is Mie Sofia Elers? She’s dating Denmark’s Count Felix of Monpezat, but the Chilean-Danish actress has faced online abuse about her relationship with ‘Denmark’s most eligible bachelor’
After going public with her royal beau, Elers – along with her friends and family – faced such extensive harassment on social media platforms that she filed a complaint with the Danish police
Amid all that, the Scandinavian country quietly announced a new royal romance. In February, a royal representative confirmed that Count Felix of Monpezat, the dashing 22-year-old nephew of King Frederik, had found himself a girlfriend in Chilean-Danish actress Mie Sofia Elers.
But it’s not all been plain sailing for Felix’s new flame. Elers opened up about the intense online hatred she’s faced since the relationship became public. Trolls have harassed and bombarded her with violent threats, making this royal romance something less than a fairy tale.
Felix, Prince Joachim’s younger son, was seen visiting Mie and her brother Mathias in Madrid, where she is studying. Despite being stripped of his title of prince last year by Queen Margrethe, supposedly to protect him from the pressures of royalty, Felix is living his best life in Copenhagen, studying International Shipping and Trade at Copenhagen Business School, while also making waves in the modelling world with campaigns for jeweller Georg Jensen.
So who is Mie Sofia Elers? Here’s everything we know about the royal girlfriend.
