Jennifer Garner, star and producer of fantasy-comedy film Family Switch, is enjoying autumn with her family. Following the frenzy of US election day, the Emmy-nominated actress slipped away to Charleston, West Virginia, where she grew up, to spend time with her loved ones. In an endearing family photo on Instagram, Garner is seen holding hands with her mother Patricia and elder sister Melissa. Although they were not joined by the youngest Garner sister, Susannah, the three were evidently happy out on their neighbourhood stroll.
Jennifer is the middle child of three sisters in the Garner family and wears that title like a badge of honour. “Being the middle sister of these three girls is the relationship that defines me more than anything else. More than being my kids’ mother … I’m first and foremost the middle Garner girl,” she told Southern Living magazine.

The Garner sisters have been close all their lives. They were raised in Charleston, West Virginia and had a religious upbringing. While Melissa acted as Jennifer’s protector, the Deadpool & Wolverine actress fulfilled the same role for Susannah.
In an interview with The Independent, Garner revealed that Melissa, 55, was a straight-A student – so she was drawn to acting because it was something her “bigger-than-life” older sister wasn’t doing. As for younger sister Susannah, 49, the Juno star described her as “badass”.
