The Filipino-American designer told the media that the woman had been pleasant initially, but grew agitated on seeing the pro-Trump posters and dresses designed by Soriano at his boutique. She then reportedly hid herself in a bush – before crying and calling the police. An officer later escorted her away.
“As an American citizen, as a First Amendment in our great nation, you can express yourself by putting your signs in your home and expressing who you are as an individual, whether it’s religion, whether it’s politics or anything that you feel, without harming anyone,” he told the Daily Mail. “That’s just the freedom of artistic expression and being free in America, and nowadays, you can’t even express that.”
