Earl Spencer’s new partner is suing his estranged wife, Karen Spencer.
According to The Telegraph, Catrine Jarman, 42, who is now dating Princess Diana’s brother, has lodged a claim against his 52-year-old estranged wife over the “misuse of private information”. Per the source, Jarman is being represented by the legal firm Simons Muirhead Burton, but no other information is known about the matter.
Charles Spencer, 60, and Karen Gordon married over a decade ago in 2011, but announced they were divorcing in June.
Here’s what we know about his new flame – who is 18 years his junior:
Professor Catrine Jarman is a Norwegian archaeologist
Per Reuters, Professor Jarman is an archaeologist who specialises in the Vikings. According to her profile on the University of Oslo’s website, she worked “as an adviser for the development of the new Museum of the Viking Age in Oslo, providing research and written texts as background for creating the museum’s new exhibits and online content”. She is also a “freelance author and historical consultant for TV and media”, according to the site.
How did Charles Spencer meet Catrine Jarman?
The couple reportedly met while she was searching for the remains of an ancient Roman villa on Althorp’s grounds for a Channel 4 documentary, according to The Telegraph. Spencer confirmed they were dating when he told The Times in early October that they “are close”.
