Meet Noah Centineo’s mum Kellee Janel, who just got married: the spin and yoga instructor moved to LA for her son’s acting career … then he scored the lead in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Last month the former teen heartthrob and The Fosters alum walked his mother down the aisle on Italy’s Amalfi Coast – but what do we know about his biggest supporter over the years?
It’s clear that the two have a loving, supportive relationship – so, who is Kellee Janel, the mother who shaped the Hollywood star?
She grew up in Florida
Janel, 54, lived a relatively normal life near Palm Beach, Florida, until she became the mother of a child model and actor, per The New York Times. She married Greg Centineo, a pastor, and gave birth to daughter Taylor and son Noah in 1994 and 1996 respectively.
Taylor, who dreamed of being a model, discovered an open call audition for a local talent agency. “She dragged me to this audition, and I’m sitting there and someone comes over to me and they’re like, ‘Hey, are you auditioning?’ and I was like, ‘No!’ and they were like, ‘Come on, you should audition,’ and I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to,’ and they said, ‘No, I really think that you have potential, you should audition,” Noah recounted in a 2017 interview with Pop Culturalist. He was eight years old at the time.
Eventually, Noah auditioned, signed with the agency, and began landing commercials and print jobs, including one for Macy’s.
He continued down this path until he was 15, when he booked a role on Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally. What began as a bit part unexpectedly evolved into a recurring role, and the aspiring actor was determined to succeed. He began mulling a move to LA.
“That’s when I looked at my parents and was like, ‘Yo, I’m about it. If you move me there I’ll be successful. This is what I want to dedicate my life to,’” Noah recalled in a 2018 interview with The New York Times.
