This past summer, the TikTok world got a splash of star power as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest daughter, North West, teamed up with social media sensation Tylil James to film a video for the viral trend “Just Give Me My Money”. But just how did this unexpected collaboration come about?
 

Per TMZ, the 11-year-old was enjoying a night out at chic Asian fusion eatery Sei Less in New York with her mum’s long-time bestie, Lala Anthony. While dining, they crossed paths with West’s favourite TikTokker, Tylil James, who was reportedly having a meal with rapper Rubi Rose.

The four of them decided to film the quirky “Just Give Me My Money” trend, which sees participants adopt peculiar and humorous voices to say “just give me my money” one by one, culminating in applause – until the final participant, who is greeted by a deafening silence which hangs in the air like a veil of awkwardness.

With 143,000 subscribers on YouTube, 401,000 admirers on Instagram, and a massive audience of 1.2 million on his TikTok handle @thetylilshow at the time of writing, James is a beacon of creativity online, entertaining audiences with quirky dance and comedy videos. And he’s only been around since December 2021.
