Jennie Garth, 52, is no stranger to navigating the highs and lows of both Hollywood and marriage. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star recently shared a deeply personal chapter of her life – how trying to start a family with her husband, Dave Abrams, 43, put their relationship to the test.

After marrying Abrams in 2015, the couple quickly embarked on a journey to have children. But as Garth recently revealed in an interview with Self, their attempts at IVF became a heartbreaking ordeal. “We were trying to have a baby, and it kept failing,” Garth shared, candidly expressing the toll it took on both of them. Eventually, they gave up on having a baby together, a decision that “freed us up to love each other in a different way”, the actress said.

Despite the challenges they faced, Garth remains full of praise for her husband. And while they didn’t expand their family, Abrams plays an important role as a stepdad to Jennie’s three daughters, Luca, 27, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 17, from her previous marriage to Peter Facinelli, 50 – aka Carlisle in the Twilight movies.

Abrams is all about golf and football when he’s not on set. Garth even made a playful vow on their wedding day to “watch the Golf Channel 24/7”, per Toronto.com. But it’s not just golf that brings them together. When they’re not swinging clubs, the couple loves cheering on their favourite NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
