Shiloh Jolie and Suri Noelle’s lives at age 18, compared: from dropping their famous dads Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise’s names, to future plans
STORYLynn Farah
The A-list daughters were both born in 2006 and had difficult relationships with their dads after their parents separated, but remain tight with their mums, Angelina Jolie and Katie Holmes
Two of showbiz’s most famous teens are growing up fast. Born in 2006 when tabloid media was at its peak and celebrity privacy was practically non-existent, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (born to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt) and Suri Cruise (daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) were household names almost as soon as they were born.
While both celeb offspring were thrust into the spotlight from the moment they entered the world, Shiloh (born May 27) and Suri (born April 18) have largely grown up away from the spotlight. And while their lives have turned out to be quite different, they do share some similarities.

Now that they’re both 18, here’s what they’ve been up to – and why they’re both changing their names.
They’re both estranged from their mega star fathers
Their fathers might be two of the most famous actors in the world, but that hasn’t helped them establish good relationships with their respective daughters.
Suri was regularly photographed with dad Tom Cruise until 2012, when mum Katie Holmes unexpectedly filed for divorce from the Top Gun actor. Holmes was awarded custody of Suri, with Cruise securing visitation rights. Despite this, Cruise apparently chose to keep his distance, and has not been seen with Suri in over a decade. They were last spotted together in 2012 on a visit to Walt Disney World in Florida.
Like Suri, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has had a strained relationship with dad Brad Pitt after his separation from mum Angelina Jolie in 2016. Unlike Cruise though, Pitt put up a very public fight to secure access to Shiloh and her siblings. The ongoing custody battle and divorce proceedings have lasted for years, with Pitt securing joint custody in May 2021, only for Jolie to get the ruling overturned two months later. Now that Shiloh is 18, the custody battle over her has finally run its course – though it continues for the couple’s remaining minor biological children, twins Knox and Vivienne.
