Meet Hilary Swank’s husband Philip Schneider: the Million Dollar Baby actress shares twins with the social entrepreneur, and they’re both nature obsessed
- Hilary Swank just celebrated her 50th birthday by swimming with whales, something she said has been on her bucket list for years
- Her socially conscious husband Philip Schneider is equally enamoured with nature, and the pair celebrated his 50th birthday ‘fly-fishing, hiking, exploring, looking for wildlife’ in Alaska
It seems Swank is ticking off a lot of firsts this year. In April she celebrated the first birthday of her fraternal twins Aya and Ohm, whom she shares with her entrepreneur husband Philip Schneider. So who exactly is Hilary Swank’s husband of six years and counting? Here’s what we know.
What does Philip Schneider do for work?
Swank’s husband is somewhat elusive online, but has been described as a “social venture entrepreneur” by Vogue, meaning he invests in or creates companies finding solutions for social, economic, or environmental issues.
How did Hilary Swank and Philip Schneider meet?
The Ordinary Angels star was reportedly set up on a blind date with Schneider by actor Misha Collins’ wife Victoria Vantoch in 2014. “We met at 10am and parted ways at 11pm,” Swank told Vogue in 2018. “We clearly enjoyed our time!” After that first date, it only took a year and a half before the couple got engaged in 2016 and then married in 2018.
Schneider popped the question in Colorado with a waterfall as the backdrop, and made sure the special moment was witnessed. “He sweetly made sure my dogs were nearby so they could bear witness,” Swank told Vogue of the picturesque proposal.
