Bob Iger might be adding football clubs to his list of personal mergers and acquisitions. According to the LA Times, the Disney CEO and his wife Willow Bay have been eyeing up a deal to buy a controlling stake in the Los Angeles women’s football team Angel City FC for US$50 million.
Willow Bay is an American TV journalist, editor, author and former model
The 60-year-old, who was born Kristine Carlin Bay, wears many hats – from her work in TV journalism with NBC’s Today Show and Good Morning America to her previous career as a model. Per British media, she was with Ford Models and worked as a spokesperson for Estée Lauder cosmetics in the 1980s. The same source adds that she was also a senior editor at the Huffington Post.
She is a dean at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism
Bay has used her experience to mentor others as a dean at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Per her bio on the institution’s website, she was the first female dean of USC Annenberg. It notes that she looks after over 200 faculty and staff, and more than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students across the fields of communication, journalism, public relations and public diplomacy.
