The Legally Blonde actress has reportedly been spending time with German financier Oliver Haarmann of late, who is eight years older than her. Most recently, she was spotted heading out for dinner with Haarmann in New York, per UK media. Back in November there were rumours that the Oscar-winning actress was dating Kevin Costner, but they were quickly shut down by her rep.

Sources told People that Witherspoon and Haarmann are just “friends” for now, and that the actress “is taking things slow when it comes to dating”.

Oliver Haarmann is a founding partner at Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm with over US$10 billion in assets under management, according to the Aspire Institute. Prior to that he was a senior partner at KKR & Co., a global investment firm based in London. He got his dual bachelor’s degree in history and international relations from Brown University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

He is a philanthropist

Haarmann is chairman of the board at IntoUniversity, a charity that helps make higher education accessible for disadvantaged young people in the UK. He also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Artangel, is an advisory board member for the Aspire Institute, and a member of the board of trustees of Brown, per his LinkedIn page.
