After decades of silence about his famous and often controversial family, Fred C. is releasing All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, which is set to hit shelves today, July 30. Its release comes just months ahead of the pivotal November US presidential election. According to its publisher, thanks to the author’s “extraordinary access, from the Trump house to the White House”, the book promises “never-before-told stories” that cast a revealing light on the “darker corners of the Trump empire”.

But what do we know about its author, Fred C. Trump III himself?

What is Fred C. Trump III’s background?

Born in 1962, Fred C. is the son of Linda Clapp of Queens, New York, and Fred Trump Jr, the eldest son of Fred Trump Sr, who was the patriarch of the Trump family property empire. Fred C. has a younger sister, Mary Trump, who is an author and psychologist.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in economics from Lehigh University, Fred C. fell into the family business and began carving out a successful career in commercial property, working his way up from an associate to executive director at Cushman & Wakefield. He married Lisa Beth Lorant, a senior underwriter for a New York-based insurance company, in 1989, and the couple went on to have three children.

After Fred Jr passed away from a heart attack in 1981, Fred C. entered a complex and tumultuous relationship with his uncle Donald and the broader Trump family.
