Gisele Bündchen just celebrated her 44th birthday with her twin sister Patricia. “Grateful to be celebrating one more year around the sun with my super sis,” she wrote in her caption on Instagram alongside photos of her twin and family. “Thank you everyone for all the love and birthday wishes. Feeling blessed to be surrounded by so much love. Looking forward to what is ahead.”

According to The Washington Post, Gisele and her five sisters were raised in a small town called Horizontina in the Rio Grande do Sul state in the south of Brazil. Gisele was reportedly discovered by a modelling agent at a McDonald’s while in São Paulo aged just 13, per Vogue.

Gisele and her five sisters – Raquel, Graziela, Gabriela, Rafaela and her fraternal twin Patricia – were born to their parents Vânia and Valdir Bündchen, who are of German descent. According to US media, her twin Patricia works as Gisele’s long-time manager and is in charge of her business endeavours in Brazil. She is reportedly married to a man named Rodrigo Pereira, and they still live in Brazil.

Raquel, the eldest Bündchen sibling, apparently works as Gisele’s accountant, while Graziela is a judge, according to Vanity Fair. Gabriela is a lawyer, who has also worked with Gisele, and Rafaela, the youngest sister, designed Gisele’s website.
