If you’ve ever seen an episode of Nickelodeon’s hit TV show Victorious, you might recognise Avan Jogia. The 32-year-old actor from Vancouver, Canada played the show’s pretty boy lead Beck Oliver alongside Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice.
Over a decade since the series’ debut though, he’s arguably better known for dating American singer-songwriter Halsey – recently, rumours of an engagement have brought further attention to the loved-up couple.

Besides being Halsey’s boyfriend and a former Nickelodeon star, Jogia has continued to make waves in the industry, appearing in a number of films and shows. Here’s what you need to know about him.
Avan Jogia’s breakout role was on Nickelodeon’s Victorious
Victorious fans will have nostalgic memories of Jogia as Beck Oliver, the good-looking leader of the Hollywood Arts gang. His luscious, long locks must have resulted in many teens who came of age in the 2010s harbouring a childhood crush on him – or at least, his on-screen character.
Still, it’s not just his pretty hair and chiselled jaw that fans fell for – some took to Reddit to bemoan the fact that his “lovely” voice wasn’t given more airtime on the show.
But his turn in Resident Evil got mixed reviews
Jogia seemed to carry on his pretty boy heartthrob legacy as Leon Kennedy in the 2021 film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which is loosely based on the Resident Evil video games by Capcom.
