Christina Applegate’s daughter Sadie LeNoble is opening up about her health struggles, after being diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, also known as POTS.

According to the NHS, POTs is a condition where your heart rate increases quickly after getting up from sitting or lying down, and includes symptoms such as dizziness and lightheadedness, fainting, and shortness of breath. It can be improved through lifestyle changes, though some may need medication, adds the source.

“When I stand up, I get really, really dizzy and like my legs get really weak and I feel like I’m going to pass out,” the 13-year-old explained on an episode of her mum’s MeSsy podcast on June 25. “And I have fainted before and I have gone unconscious, but that doesn’t usually happen.”

According to LeNoble, it has helped her empathise with her mother, who is struggling with her own health problems after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021.

“I feel like if I didn’t have this thing, it would be a lot harder to understand what my mom’s going through,” she shared. “When my mom’s like, ‘Oh, I’m in pain right now. Oh, I’m having tremors.’ If I didn’t have this, I probably would be like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ But I have tremors from POTS.”

Here’s what we know about Christina Applegate’s daughter and her loving relationship with her mother:

According to People magazine, Sadie Grace LeNoble was born to her parents Christina Applegate and musician Martyn LeNoble on January 27, 2011, in Los Angeles, California. Applegate talked to the outlet about how the birth of her daughter changed her life. “I felt my heart literally open up for the first time and like wrap itself around her,” she told the publication. “And I’m more in love with her every minute of the day.”

She’s very low-key

Being in her early teens, it’s not too surprising that Sadie has remained low-key so far, though her mum does occasionally talk about her in interviews. It seems Sadie doesn’t have a public presence on social media either.

Her parents brought her on to Hollywood sets

Like many celebrity children, Sadie was introduced to movie sets from a young age. In fact, she was often on the set of Up All Night, which both of her parents worked on, per People. “My whole thing was, ‘I’m not doing this unless I can bring her.’ So they had to build me a room for her and it’s got her toys and a crib and she takes her naps there,” Applegate told People in 2020. “That’s called a crazy mother who said, ‘No, I’m not doing anything unless I can be with my baby.’”

She’s musical and has comedic skills

It’s unclear whether young Sadie will follow in her mother’s footsteps, but she has shown a proclivity for music like her bassist dad. She’s also, according to her mum, “such a goofball”.

“She loves playing piano; that’s really what she loves doing right now,” Applegate told People in 2018. “She thinks she’s gonna be a singer, OK?”

In her recent appearance on her mum’s podcast, Sadie opened up about how their lives had changed since Applegate, 52, was diagnosed with MS.

“Every night, I remember when I was a kid, we would dance and everything in her room for like hours at a time,” Sadie said. “When she got diagnosed it kind of just felt like – not like everything was over, but it was hard seeing my mom lose a lot of the abilities she used to have in my childhood.”
