Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which comes almost four decades after the original, and three decades since the last film Beverly Hills Cop III (1994), stars Bria as a cop who arrests her dad’s character Axel Foley. In a different scene, Bria’s IRL husband, Michael Xavier, tases Eddie in the neck. Eddie revealed to Today that the scene was filmed just after the couple got married in 2022, which made the experience “surreal”.

Bria Murphy has worked as a model

In her early twenties, Murphy worked as a model but wasn’t afraid to expose the dark side of the industry. She revealed in an interview with Good Morning America, “Lots of girls get addicted to drugs and anorexia … it’s a lot of pressure to be perfect.” She admitted to feeling this pressure herself, especially as she was small in frame, and the slightest change in weight was more obvious.

In a revelation on GMA in 2013, Murphy said that she heard models would dip cotton balls in orange juice and eat them to stay full. She added that the beauty industry’s unrealistic standards took a heavy emotional toll on models.

She’s also appeared in films and TV series

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F was not the first time that Bria appeared in the same work as her famous father. In 2003, her drawings appeared as “children’s drawings” in Eddie’s film Daddy Day Care. She then made her acting debut in the TV series Love That Girl!, and has also been in the films The Perfect Match (2016) – as herself – and Amateur Night (2016). She also appeared on Hollywood Exes in 2014, where she starred alongside her mother.

Eddie recently told ET Bria had “never asked me about being in any movie”. Bria may have admitted she’s a “daddy’s girl”, but added that she had auditioned for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F to see if she was “worthy of taking part” in her father’s new film – and ended up making it.

She’s a visual artist

Murphy founded ArtUs with artists Kyle D. Jordan and Jade Johnson, a platform for up and coming artists. In 2020, she donated part of the proceeds of her “Art 4 All” exhibition to Waves for Water, which works on promoting clean oceans. Through ArtUs, she also started presenting the Take Action award to individuals who contribute to sustainability and help make the planet a better place. Jaden Smith won one of the event’s Take Action award in 2020.
