Actor Marlon Wayans’ Instagram has lit up with rainbow coloured posts this Pride Month as he proudly supports his transgender child Kai, but some still made hateful comments

‘As a father of a child in the LGBTQ+ community, I show my support. If I lost you … good!’ he wrote in response – so what do we know about Kai, whom Wayans had with his ex Angelica Zachary?

Marlon Wayans is clapping back at haters who have been criticising him online for sharing various Pride Month posts on Instagram this month, as reported by US media.

“Happy Pride to all my LGBTQ+ peoples,” he wrote in one of the captions. “PS I’m straight,” he added. “Well, according to my child, cisgender male. I just love and support my peoples.”

In another post “for the hate mongers”, he wrote, “As a father of a child in the LGBTQ+ community, I show my support. Zero f***** what people think. If I lost you … good! Your hateful a** never loved me in the first place. How can you love anyone when you’re too busy judging. Some of y’all funny. I’m a troll. I’ll post all day.”

Wayans first opened up about his 24-year-old kid Kai being transgender during an appearance on The Breakfast Club in November 2023.

According to People, the White Chicks actor shares two children, Kai and Shawn, with his ex Angelica Zachary. According to the outlet, the pair were together from 1992 to 2013. Kai is the elder of the two siblings, born on May 24, 2000. People adds that Wayans also has a young daughter, Axl, with his ex Brittany Moreland.

While remaining relatively low key, Kai has still turned up to a handful of events alongside their father over the years. Per People, Kai was at the premiere of 2013’s A Haunted House and 2016’s Fifty Shades of Black, among others.
