Less than a year after tying the knot and describing their wedding as “the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love” on Instagram, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from his Aussie wife, Firerose.
The pair got married in October 2023. A mere seven months later, Cyrus filed for an annulment citing “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct”. Court documents also cite that the marriage was “fraudulent” with no further clarification, according to TMZ.
The outlet also reported that Cyrus gave her two days to get out of their house, and is paying her US$5,000 a month plus money for housing in Tennessee for 90 days or until the divorce is finalised, whichever comes first.

In an interview with Tennessee Star, Firerose – whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges – spoke about how she grew up in a musical family and was writing songs from a young age. She moved from Sydney to Los Angeles at age 19 to pursue her musical ambitions under the name Firerose. She’s credited under her real name on song tracks, but has also gone by names like Rose Hodges and Miss Rosie.
