Former model and actress Sarah Murdoch found herself back in the news recently after it was announced that her brother Shaun O’Hare had died unexpectedly at 58

Sarah Murdoch is the wife of Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch, has modelled for Issey Miyake and Oscar de la Renta, and worked with L’Oréal, Revlon, Estée Lauder and Ralph Lauren

Sarah Murdoch – the glamorous daughter-in-law of media mogul Rupert Murdoch – was recently back in the spotlight after it was reported that her brother Shaun O’Hare had unexpectedly died at the age of 58, according to British media.

O’Hare worked as executive director of energy and telecommunications company Eutility, which he founded in 1999, and leaves behind two children.

The businessman reportedly died in March, with his adult daughter Ashleigh sharing the sad news via several posts on Facebook.

Sarah Murdoch (née O’Hare) was a famous model in the 1990s. According to Mamamia, she got her start at 17 after signing with modelling agency Vivien’s Management in Sydney. Per the same source, she went on to work for brands including Karl Lagerfeld, Issey Miyake, Chanel, Valentino and Oscar de la Renta. Her IMDB bio also points out that she scored major contracts with L’Oréal, Revlon, Estée Lauder and Ralph Lauren, and major campaigns with Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent during her career too.

In 2000, Murdoch made a cameo at the very end of an episode of Friends – The One With Ross’ Library Book – then made her film debut in Head Over Heels.

In 2001 she told IGN Entertainment that she preferred acting over modelling. “Acting, definitely,” she said, when asked which of the two she liked more. “I think as soon as I was on the set, as soon as we started filming [Head Over Heels], I knew this was what I wanted to do. I absolutely love it.”
