  • Athletes like Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White have achieved Olympic glory by dedicating themselves to hitting the slopes, reaching the pinnacles of their sport and cementing their place in history
  • But high-profile sports careers lead to big business too, netting mega-millions for successful athletes through lucrative off-piste business deals and endorsements with the likes of Beats by Dre and Oakley

When it comes to icy slopes, no sports are faster, fancier or more downright dangerous than skiing and snowboarding. For athletes willing to take the plunge though, the adrenaline rush is worth it.

Those that reach the glittering heights of their careers also become sought after as brand ambassadors, leading to lucrative partnerships – and, after retiring, many go on to create successful brands related to their sport. All of this means just one thing: great runs on the slope can translate to big bucks in the bank.

But which skiers and snowboarders have made fortunes – and whose net worth is the biggest? Let’s take a closer look with the help of Celebrity Net Worth.

Born in the ski resort town of Vail, Colorado, American alpine ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin, 29, was made for the slopes. She’s the youngest slalom champion in Olympic history, and the youngest on our rich list. She also has the most World Cup wins of any alpine skier in history, among men or women, per the Wall Street Journal, so it’s no surprise Shiffrin has made an impressive fortune before the age of 30.

6. Jamie Anderson

Estimated net worth: US$4 million

American professional snowboarder Jamie Anderson picked up her first endorsement at just 10 years old after just one year on the slopes. She became one of the youngest participants at the Winter X-Games when she debuted in 2005 at age 13; two years later, she won her first slopestyle event and quickly became popular with sponsors like Billabong, Oakley, GoPro and Monster energy drinks.

But her greatest achievement was possibly winning three Olympic medals across the 2014 and 2018 Games. Anderson also appeared on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump in 2015 and now charges big bucks as a motivational speaker.
