Here’s what we know about Renée Rapp’s new girlfriend, Towa Bird.
Where is Towa Bird from?
Bird, age 24 like Rapp, had an international upbringing. She was born in Hong Kong to British and Filipino parents, and grew up between her hometown and Thailand before moving to London to study at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London, states Elle. However, she dropped out of university to begin her music career.
Her parents still live in Hong Kong.
“My family lives in Hong Kong and my sister lives with them, and so we’re all kind of, like, spread out. So whenever I do get the chance to, like, talk to them and catch up with them, I’m very grateful for that,” she told UCLA Radio in October 2023.
She is a musician
Initially, she was planning to pursue a professional career in sports, but she did a “full 180” after learning to play the guitar at age 12, according to her interview on ESPN.
She played guitar for Olivia Rodrigo
The gig reportedly helped launch her career, with Bird being signed to Interscope Records, the same record label as Rodrigo, that same year in 2021.
How did Towa Bird meet Renée Rapp?
It’s unclear exactly when or how the couple met, but it’s speculated that they likely crossed paths for the first time when Bird joined Rapp on her Snow Hard Feelings Tour.
Bird told Euphoria Magazine that “Reneé is so authentically herself. The persona doesn’t change … when she talks to me, she talks to me in the same way she addresses her fans.”
