Ewan McGregor’s daughter Clara talked about being grateful that she’s a ‘nepo baby’ in a new interview – but how did she feel about watching her dad’s nude scenes in The Pillow Book as a high-schooler?

It’s always interesting to hear a nepo baby’s take on how they view their privilege though. While some have acknowledged that they wouldn’t be where they are today without a leg-up from their famous parents, others have been less willing to admit that they’ve had help.

For Ewan McGregor’s daughter Clara, however, it’s all about fully embracing the nepo baby life and its many benefits – and being honest about it, too. According to British media, the 28-year-old said: “What comes with that is an immense amount of privilege. I grew up wealth privileged, but also with the celebrity privilege of my dad. So when people are like, ‘Is it hard to have a famous dad?’, I’m like, ‘Oh no, it’s not.’

“I love my dad, I’ve never wanted to distance myself from that. When it comes to the whole nepo baby thing, I get it. I get the frustration. I have had a lot more opportunities because of who he is. That’s undeniable,” she added. “I think a lot of things are made easier because you have a famous parent.”

In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, she recalled how she had to watch her father’s naked scenes in The Pillow Book during high school. “When I was a senior in high school I took a gender studies class,” she told Kimmel. “My teacher came up to me near the end of the semester and was like, ‘Listen, there’s a movie that I usually teach, it’s part of the curriculum, your dad is in it. There is some nudity so I wanted to run it by you before we watched it in class.’”

Clara Mathilde McGregor, 28, was born in 1996 to her parents Ewan McGregor and Eve Mavrakis, who were married from 1995 to 2018. Ewan McGregor is a famous Scottish actor best known for his roles in films including Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge and Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
