One revelation suggests that the late Queen Elizabeth reportedly “offered” her Black equerry, Lieutenant Colonel Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah, to “help” Meghan Markle “feel comfortable” while she adjusted to life as a royal.

“Though a charming and intelligent man, it stood out like a sore thumb to Meghan and her friends,” Scobie wrote in his book. British media stated that Markle and a friend felt “insulted” by this proposition. “I doubt Kate was offered an equerry [for guidance],” Scobie claimed a friend commented to Prince Harry’s wife.

Lieutenant Colonel Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah was born in Ghana

Ghana-born Lieutenant Colonel Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah began his career working as a Blues and Royals squadron leader at The Household Cavalry Mounted Regimen, per his LinkedIn. He was also stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan as a principal staff officer for the Afghanistan National Army Training Group, and worked some other jobs before becoming an equerry to Queen Elizabeth from August 2017 to December 2020.

He now works for the UK Ministry of Defence, per his LinkedIn.
