In late November, TMZ Sports broke the news that the NBA is currently looking into allegations around Oklahoma City Thunder player Josh Giddey – based on claims that he allegedly had an “inappropriate relationship with a minor”.
This week, it was confirmed that Gloria Allred, a famous American lawyer, would be representing the family of the girl with whom Giddey is accused of having an improper relationship, per AP.
The news comes after the Newport Beach, California, police department also confirmed that it’s conducting a further investigation into the case, according to the same source.
“The Newport Beach Police Department is aware of information being circulated online involving an alleged relationship between professional basketball player Josh Giddey and a female minor,” read the statement, “The Newport Beach Police Department is actively seeking additional information related to these allegations and pursuing all leads and evidence to obtain the facts of the case.”
