Back in 1990, when Vergara was just 18, she married her childhood sweetheart Joe Gonzalez, according to Us Weekly.
She then gave birth to her first (and to date only) child, Manolo, a year later in 1991. However, the Colombian bombshell would call it quits just two years later, and by 1993 the pair had split.
Since becoming a Hollywood star, Vergara has been romantically linked to numerous high-profile men, from Tom Cruise and Mark Wahlberg to Enrique Iglesias, but she never wanted her son to be confused and always put him first, she told Parade in 2011, saying: “It’s OK for your kid to see you together on holidays, or going out for lunch or dinner, but that’s not the same as seeing him staying overnight in your room.”
