The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree with Leah Dou!

The daughter of Hong Kong singer Faye Wong and celebrated Chinese rock musician Dou Wei may be a nepo baby, but she has undoubtedly forged her own unique career path. The 26-year-old has established herself as an artist who can’t be pigeonholed – whether in music or acting – and her influence doesn’t stop there, mesmerising fans with her androgynous fashion sense and luring in luxury brands.

Recently, the young prodigy graced the stage at Shenzhen’s Strawberry Music Festival and wowed audiences when she duetted with Hong Kong icon Karen Mok on the Chinese talent show Infinity and Beyond, according to Asia One. The duo sang Stefanie Sun’s “The Dark Day” and netizens can’t stop praising her.

It has also been reported that Dou, real name Dou Jing-tong, is set to play a role opposite Eric Wang in an upcoming Chinese drama titled Her Way To Survive, marking her first foray into television acting, per Singapore’s 8 Days.

So, what else do we know about Faye Wong’s talented daughter?

She won her first award at 22 years old

At 22, the young star received the best supporting actress award at the Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF) for her role in Chen Jian-bin’s The Eleventh Chapter (2019). Dou played the role of Jian-bin’s step daughter and also shared the screen with acclaimed Chinese actress Zhou Xun.

In 2021, she starred in her second film – Queena Li’s Bipolar opposite Kailang He. Dou also previously earned a notable nomination at the prestigious Golden Horse Awards for best original film song for her song titled “Soul Mate”, featured in the film of the same name (2016).

Now, as Dou prepares for her TV debut in Her Way To Survive, she fully commits to her role as seen in the teaser video, hitting the gym and honing culinary skills to play the part, per Singapore’s 8 Days.
