Ashley may be celebrity royalty but she’s also working hard to make a name for herself – she has appeared in ViuTV’s Rope on Rope and 2022 anthology film Septet: The Story of Hong Kong

The 22-year-old is a fashion icon in the making, working with brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton and Fendi, but did you know that she’s also an architecture graduate who scored 41 for her IB?

Ashley Lin may be the daughter of ex-celebrity couple Mimi Kung and Wei Lin, but she is making a name for herself through her own multiple creative pursuits. Dubbed the “Prettiest Second-Gen Star”, Ashley is a budding singer-songwriter, actress and fashion model with an educational background in architecture – among many other pursuits.

Kung is perhaps best known for her roles in TV drama Journey to the West (1996) and film Encounters of the Spooky Kind (1980), while Wei has starred in action-adventure flicks like 3 Kung Fu Kids (1995) and Feng Wu Jiu Tian (1996).

Currently based in Hong Kong, the 22-year-old rising star seems determined to stand out as more than just the daughter of her famous parents. Let’s get to know her better …

Born on March 3, 2000, Lin Kae-ning, better known as Ashley Lin, has gorgeous good looks thanks to her mum Mimi Kung and dad Wei Lin.

Kung and Wei made headlines in 2019 after they ended their more than 20-year high-profile marriage. Reports mentioned that they were leading different lives and that their children understood and respected their decision. At the time of their separation, Wei had also been spotted with a woman on the streets of Taiwan, per Yahoo! News.

Also per Yahoo! News, Ashley assured the media and fans that everything was fine between her parents and that they had taken good care of her and her equally good-looking little brother, Edison. “They’re good parents. I am very happy,” she said.

At only eight years old, Lin had already reached a high level in piano and vocals. Media reports revealed that Lin started as a bel canto singer in the classical music and opera realm. However, she eventually pivoted to jazz after suffering a vocal cord injury.
