Ivana Trump – the first wife of Donald Trump – died in her home in New York City on July 14 at age 73. Her death was discovered after a request was made to conduct a wellness check. It’s unclear who requested the check, but her youngest son Eric Trump was seen leaving her flat with his wife Lara Trump. He told members of the media waiting outside, “It’s a very sad day, guys. It’s a very sad day.”
Police confirmed to multiple media outlets that she was found at the bottom of her staircase in her Manhattan flat that afternoon. Authorities suspect that Ivana died from a cardiac arrest, although the official cause of death had not been determined. No foul play was suspected.

The Trump family wrote in a statement: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman – a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor.”
Ivanka added in an Instagram post: “Heartbroken by the passing of my mother. Mum was brilliant, charming, passionate and wickedly funny. She modelled strength, tenacity and determination in her every action. She lived life to the fullest – never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance. I will miss her forever and will keep her memory alive in our hearts always.”
