Starring Pataky as a US marine and co-produced by hubby Chris Hemsworth, Netflix’s Interceptor hasn’t exactly received rave reviews, but it’s topping most-watched lists anyway

She rose to fame thanks to the Fast & Furious, has new films starring brother-in-law Liam Hemsworth and Russell Crowe, and just launched skincare line Purely Byron

Marvel fans will already know that 38-year-old Chris Hemsworth, aka Thor, is completely smitten with his real-life wife. The “god of thunder” has been happily married to his very own definition of a goddess, 45-year-old Elsa Pataky, since 2010. Recently though, she’s been making her own name for herself.

Born in Madrid in 1976 as Elsa Lafuente Medianu to a Hungarian-Romanian publicist mother and Spanish biochemist father, the Spanish actress and model rose to Hollywood fame for her role as Elena Neves in the Fast & Furious franchise. Before that, she starred in several Spanish TV series productions like La Vida en el Aire and Los Serrano.

Lately, the blonde bombshell has been making headlines for her leading role in Netflix’s Interceptor. Although the action-adventure film received, ahem, mixed reviews from critics, it’s still been the talk of the town, ranking No 1 in several countries on the popular streaming platform since its release in early June. Pataky plays a plucky army captain on a mission to prevent a missile attack in the US.

The actress, who’s already known for her fit physique and workout regime, wowed audiences with her incredible four-month transformation for the film. But it didn’t come easy – she worked hard to prepare for the role. “I wanted to have the same physique as strong women that I’ve seen, these US army girls they really prepare,” she told Australia’s Now to Love.
