Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is Bollywood royalty. The star has been acting for more than five decades and is celebrated for his versatility and staying power in a cutthroat industry. Respected by his peers, adored by his fans and loved by his family and friends, Bachchan has created a legacy that will live on for years to come. As his fame has grown, so has his wealth, and the actor is believed to be worth around US$400 million. The actor has learnt to invest his money while enjoying the finer things in life. Over the years Bachchan has become something of a property mogul. According to GQ India he has five homes in India alone. His first bungalow in Mumbai was named Prateeksha and was where he lived with his parents for many years.

Times of India explains that his other bungalow, Janak, is where he bases himself for work purposes, and is said to consider the space his office. He also owns another bungalow called Vatsa (meaning calf) which is leased to Citibank India, and which provides yet another source of income for the family.

However it is the iconic Jalsa that is the most well known among his houses and the one which he lives in with his family. Gifted to him by director Ramesh Sippy for acting in his movie, Satte Pe Satta in 1982, the sprawling mansion is a tourist attraction for fans that want to catch a glimpse of the famous actor. The house in located in the city’s Juhu neighbourhood.

 
According to The Newsmen, it has five bedrooms, several living rooms, a library and study. According to GQ India, the house is decked out with intricate paintings depicting Indian motifs and plenty of gold, silver and brass fixtures. Behind Jalsa is an 8,000 sq ft bungalow which the actor co-owns with his son, Abhishek.
