  • Kumar commands up to US$13 million per movie, meaning the sky’s the limit when it comes to luxury cars, homes, holidays and treats for wife Twinkle Khanna
  • With villas in Mumbai and Goa and Bentley Continental GTs and Mercedes-Benz in the garage – not to mention his own private jet – the 54-year-old sure knows how to spend it

He is one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars, commanding up to US$13 million upfront for a single film. In 2020 his net worth was an estimated US$48.5 million, according to Forbes, and thanks to his major post-coronavirus hit Bachchan Pandey, there’s no doubt Akshay Kumar’s value has continued to rise.

But what does he spend it all on? From flying in private jets to spoiling his wife, Kumar seems to love living the ultimate Bollywood high life.

If you follow Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna on Instagram, you’ll definitely have caught sight of the couple’s luxurious Arabian Sea-facing villa. According to GQ India, the house has a huge living room area, home theatre, big kitchen and, naturally, a walk-in wardrobe.

BollywoodShaadis reports the house cost around US$10.5 million and is located in the swanky Juhu area, an upmarket neighbourhood of Mumbai.

According to Vogue India, the garden area of the villa is notable because the plot originally belonged to Sumati Morarjee, a close friend of Mahatma Gandhi. There is a raised stone structure in the garden, which is untouched because this is where Gandhi used to meditate during his visits.

The house also reportedly boasts an indoor pond, antique silver candelabras, and an impressive 13-part pendant light installation by Klove Studio.
