5 reasons Camila Morrone’s real soulmate is her mum – not boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio – meet Lucila Solá, the ageless Insta-famous mother who dated Al Pacino and started out as a model like her daughter

You’d be forgiven for thinking that Leonardo DiCaprio never leaves girlfriend Camila Morrone’s side based on the hundreds of paparazzi shots that have been taken of the pair. After all, the press’ excitement about their getting together has never really abated since they first became official back in 2017.

But while DiCaprio, 47, is conspicuously absent from Morrone’s personal Instagram page – an “It” girl’s gotta keep her privacy game tight in Hollywood, you understand – another figure noticeably fills in.

Devoted Morrone fans already know we’re talking about her mother, Lucila Solá.

For the uninitiated, Solá, who is a model and actress herself, is, in almost every respect, Morrone’s mirror and partner in crime – even more so than her famous boyfriend. Here are five reasons why.

1. The uncanny resemblance

Forget looking like sisters despite the age difference, Solá, 45, could literally pass off as her daughter’s twin! We cannot count the number of times we’ve mistaken her for Morrone whenever she pops into our Insta feed.

There’s no doubt that 24-year-old Morrone got her looks from her Argentina-born mama. From their sleek, dark tresses and doe-eyed gaze to their similarly svelte figures and unparalleled elegance, the resemblance between them is uncanny.

The two are so alike that Solá has even admitted to confusing her daughter for herself in photos at times.

2. They both got their start in modelling

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, or so the old saying goes. Like her daughter, Solá got her big start as a young model back in her native Buenos Aires. And similar to her Morrone’s career trajectory, it wasn’t long before she got into acting, as well.

3. An inevitable film career

Solá started developing her acting chops in 2003, going on to star in numerous Argentinian films and TV shows. But like many other aspiring thespians in her country, she was hungry for a bigger platform, and decided to move to the US in a bid for global recognition.

The big move paid off. Since being based in Hollywood, Solá has starred in multiple productions, including Moving McAllister (which also starred Mila Kunis) and Pride and Prejudice: A Latter-Day Comedy.

4. They both have a penchant for dating film stars

The mother-daughter duo also appear to share a fondness for partnering with A-list actors off screen too. For years, Solá was in a committed relationship with Al Pacino, to the extent that Morrone considers the former Godfather to be her “stepfather”. And since breaking up, the Pacino and Solá have remained good friends.

Unsurprisingly, the veteran actor is also close to DiCaprio – both were in 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – so we can only imagine how interesting this family’s dinner conversations are.

5. The pair are equally Insta-obsessed

Evidently, Morrone is not the only one to command public attention via her socials. A glimpse at her mother’s Instagram grid reveals her own penchant for living the high life in public with snaps of her red carpet appearances, luxury holidays and first-row fashion show antics.

In between her highlight reels of selfies, scenic panoramas and #yachtlife moments, Solá has often gushed about Morrone’s achievements and often pens emotional captions to her mother-daughter throwback photos.

Behind every cool woman is often indeed a loving, equally cool mum.
