Michael Cheung Tin-fu started using the name MC in 2019 when he joined ViuTV’s King Maker II, a sequel of TV show Good Night Show – King Maker. While MC was the overall runner-up on the show, he did not sign with ViuTV. Instead, he released his debut single Good Time under Warner Music Hong Kong in March 2021.

On the first day of 2022, the 25-year-old star won the best new male singer – gold award in the 2021 Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation, calculated based on the airplays on Radio 2 of Commercial Radio Hong Kong (CRHK), much to the dismay of Edan Lui’s fans, as the Mirror member only received the silver award.

Secondary schoolmates So Chi-ho (aka MC $oho) and Hui Yin (aka KidNey) are both 28-year-old content creators of the popular YouTube channel Trial & Error. Last year the channel released a short film titled Got to Go about the dilemma of young partygoers having to leave early to avoid taking the night bus or a taxi. According to Ming Pao Weekly, it reached over three million views soon after its launch, and the video’s Cantonese rap theme song became an instant hit.

Later in the year, the duo released Black Mirror, a song dissing pop group Mirror as suggested by the title. The single got mixed comments, but it did make the duo more famous.

They just received the best new group – silver award at 2021 Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation.
