  • After hit Korean TV shows Squid Game and Hellbound comes a new reality dating series on the live-streaming giant – and contestant Cha Hyun-seung is turning plenty of heads
  • Cha has modelled for Columbia Sportswear and Men’s Health, enjoys wake-surfing and swimming, and a ‘fancam’ of his dance moves once went viral

From Squid Game to Hellbound, Korean productions on Netflix have been performing tremendously over the past few months. Its newest hit Single’s Inferno, a dating reality show, has been picking up traction as the hottest show at the moment – in more ways than one.

Nine attractive contestants are trapped on an island called Inferno for nine days; not only do they have to live by their own means, but they’re all looking for love at the same time.

While contestant Song Ji-a has made a strong impression – not only for her beauty, but her candid opinions of what she likes in a partner – one of the show’s new contestants has also been gaining attention.

Cha Hyun-seung made his appearance on the fifth episode of the programme, with both the female and male contestants acknowledging his good looks.

But beyond impressive build, let’s find out a little bit more about Cha’s life and what he gets up to outside of Single’s Inferno!

He rose to fame for performing with Sunmi

Before appearing on Single’s Inferno, Cha was an established backup dancer for several K-pop artists. During solo artist Sunmi’s performance at the 2018 Waterbomb Festival, he went viral for being a great dance partner as well as for his sculpted physique that viewers couldn’t tear their eyes away from.

Not only have videos – or “fancams” – highlighting Cha’s dancing gone viral, during Sunmi’s performance of her single Lalalay on Korean music programme Inkigayo, a fancam of Cha dancing alongside Sunmi accumulated one million views.

He’s also worked with other K-pop celebrities
