So, what’s next for the undisputed pop princess?

1. Cutting ties with her sister

It should come as no surprise that Britney is deeply hurt by her family. She recently unfollowed her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, on Instagram at the start of the year. Britney has recently opened up more about her relationship with her family. “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!!,” wrote Britney in an Instagram post in July last year. The younger Spears is set out to launch her tell-all memoir this year titled Things I Should Have Said.

2. A new song in the works

As Britney is now living life on her own terms again, she has teased fans about a potential new song. A few days before Christmas last year, the singer took to Instagram and posted a video of her belting out a tune. The Instagram post quickly garnered many likes and comments, including from fellow celebrities. Miley Cyrus, who is a massive Britney Spears fan, left a telling comment – “#VocalBible”.

As quoted from Variety, the now-deleted Instagram caption previously read, “I’m not auditioning for anything!!!! I’m reminding myself and the world of who I am !!!!”, before concluding, “Pssss new song in the works. I’m gonna let you know what I mean 😉 !!!!!”

3. She wants to “push” herself in 2022

It seems Britney Spears wants a fresh start in 2022. In another Instagram post, the Piece of Me hitmaker shared a series of quotes followed by heartfelt notes. “Last year was growth for me … I still have a way to go! My goal for this year is to push myself a bit more and do things that scare me but not too much!!!”

She then continued by encouraging fans to. “So again, I’m sorry if I sound ignorant … I’m extremely insecure and I probably care too much so that’s all I got … PRAYER.’”

4. A new dog with fiancé Sam Asghari

In an interview with Hollywood Life, the personal trainer and aspiring actor said, “I figured we need a bigger dog that is a protector and I love [Britney] and Porscha is the best.”

5. Another baby?

After five years of dating, Asghari popped the question to Britney in September 2021 and the two are currently planning their wedding. While no dates have been revealed yet, Asghari told Hollywood Life that he “likes to keep my personal life very private”, but will share moments with fans when the time is right.

Meanwhile, Asghari also corroborated the couple’s plan. When asked by TMZ about his holiday plans last month, he gushed, “baby-making, a lot of baby-making”.
