5 reasons Tiger Woods is likely to make a comeback: if any athlete can return to form after a car crash, it’s this super competitive golf pro
- Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus and Rory McIlroy have all experienced Woods’ competitive spirit at golf championships like the US Open and the Masters
- Woods’ drive to win extends to sports like table tennis and basketball too – and his former trainer Hank Haney said he would sometimes train for 13 hours a day
Tiger Woods is one of the most fiercely competitive athletes on the planet.
However, after his recent car accident, many are wondering if he will ever be able to play golf again. One former pro golfer who is now an orthopaedic surgeon is optimistic that Woods can compete again, although he does have a long recovery ahead of him.
If anybody can overcome his injuries to return to the PGA Tour, it is Tiger Woods, as nobody is more competitive –here’s five examples to prove it.
He used to have a crazy, non-stop daily routine
Woods often practised before and after competitive rounds; he was even spotted playing in the dark at the 2011 PGA Championship.
Woods recently revealed to Justin Thomas what his daily routine was when he was younger: “I used to get up in the morning, run four miles (6.5km). Then I’d go to the gym, do my lift. Then I’d hit balls for two to three hours, I’d go play, come back, work on my short game, I’d go run another four more miles, and then if anyone wanted to play basketball or tennis, I would go play basketball or tennis. That was a daily routine. I’m not doing any of that now.”
