K-pop fashion for Song Hye-kyo, Blackpink’s Lisa and Aespa – plus what G-Dragon and Girl’s Generation’s Sooyoung wore this week

What did Song Hye-kyo and Blackpink’s Lisa wear? Photos: @kyo1122; @lisa.blackpink/Instagram
Earlier this month, we looked at some of K-pop’s most over-the-top stage outfits du jour, but this week’s featured K-stars are far more relaxed and laid-back – without looking any less luxurious.
Song Hye-kyo and Aespa made K-fashion history, Blackpink’s Lisa stole the spotlight – again – G-Dragon personalised his look with Peaceminusone accessories and Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung proved she might be the most fashionable cast member in sports drama Run On.

Blackpink’s Lisa slays in looks ready for the dance floor

This just in: Blackpink’s power dancer Lalisa Manoban is trending on social media with her killer performance of Lover by Cai Xukun and Intentions by Justin Bieber in Chinese reality show Youth With You.

Sporting her signature black bob with a fringe, Lisa looked effortlessly chic in a Celine sports bra layered under a silk top, plus a lace-up mini skirt and matching boots, performing Lover. She then transitioned to a sportier look, wearing a Miu Miu sports set, a leather and knit jacket by New York-based brand MYOB and a pair of Yeezys.

As we wait eagerly for Lisa to follow bandmates Jennie and Rosé with a debut solo turn, she also last week appeared in Lili’s film The Movie, wearing a long ponytail and a loose grey suit by Korean brand Badblood.

Song Hye-kyo became the face of Fendi, while girl group Aespa fronts for Givenchy

Blackpink has long made waves in the fashion world with each member representing a different luxury fashion brand, but top-paid K-drama actress Song Hye-kyo isn’t far behind. She was recently selected as the new face of Fendi and the brand’s first-ever Korean global ambassador. Dubbed “this generation’s icon of beauty”, Song was chosen by the Italian fashion house for her “gentleness, strength and a confident attitude”, according to Harper’s Bazaar Korea.

An Instagram post hashtagged #fendiambassador revealed Song clad in the brand’s classic and chic pieces: a white mousseline midi dress with a V-neckline and the Peekaboo ISeeU leather bag in orange.

Last week, rookie girl group Aespa were also announced as ambassadors for Givenchy, becoming the first K-pop artists to represent the brand.

“I felt that as a group and individually, Karina, Giselle, Winter and Ningning have strong individuality and style that naturally fit with Givenchy,” said creative director Matthew M. Williams in a statement. “Aespa’s fashion is having their own colour.”

That personality was evident in Givenchy’s black and white announcement photo. A few weeks ago, they were spotted in Givenchy sportswear, too – little did fans know it was a sneak peek of things to come!

G-Dragon takes artsy shots of his accessories

As fans await the K-pop king’s comeback, G-Dragon updated his Instagram to tide us over, posting close-up details of his outfit during what looks like a museum visit. He previously posted a Thom Browne look adorned with Peaceminusone accessories, as well as his Nike Air Force 1 ‘07 Valentine’s Day trainers.

Sooyoung’s boss lady fashion in Run On

Run On’s finale aired earlier this month on Netflix, and we’re just as sad to say goodbye to a regular dose of Sooyoung’s style as we are about the show itself coming to an end.

Sooyoung played the role of Seo Dan-ah, who consistently served “girlboss”  looks in tailored suits and elegant dresses that showed off her slim figure. In lieu of killer stilettos, she paired her outfits with boots or trainers, since she played a frustrated football player who wanted to be ready to kick a ball every chance she could get.

Cases in point: a casual ensemble of a Lanvin knit with a classic Chanel belt bag (above), and this full-on Rejina Pyo look: a black puff-sleeved jacket with a leather midi skirt (below).
