Hollywood stars Seth Rogen, Whoopi Goldberg and Chelsea Handler have all taken a piece of the action as medical marijuana goes mainstream across North America

The world is gradually learning to accept the social, economic and medical benefits of cannabis. So it’s only natural that the cannabis industry is getting more endorsements from Hollywood celebrities. In places where medical marijuana is legal, many are even cashing in on this booming sector. As “cannapreneurs”, they run their own cannabis companies as part of their quest to promote marijuana positivity as well as their own love for the leaf. Below are seven of our favourite blunt A-listers.

We were all sent into a buzz when we found out that Jay-Z had launched his own cannabis brand called Monogram last October. The brand, which he created in collaboration with Californian cannabis grower Caliva, is his attempt to “redefine what cannabis means to consumers today”. This isn’t the rapper’s first foray into the green side of life: before launching Monogram, he worked with Caliva as their chief brand strategist.

Seth Rogen

We wouldn’t expect any less from one half of the hit Pineapple Express duo. Together with his business partner Evan Goldberg and renowned Ontario-based grower Canopy Growth, the actor came up with a cannabis company called Houseplant in March 2019. The brand’s dried flower strains, soft gel capsules and pre-rolled joints are available across Canada.
