Nayantara Kothari is late Indian business magnate Dhirubhai Ambani’s first grandchild, the daughter of Dhirubhai’s daughter Nina. Nayantara was also the first grandchild to get married. In 2013, she wed Shamit Bhartia, a director in the Hindustan Times Group who manages the media and lifestyle departments.

She married out of love

Most marriages in India are still arranged by the parents of the bride and groom. This is especially true in upper-class circles.
