Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo honours former home with US$35 million 4-star hotel, Pestana CR7, complete with rooftop bar, cafe and gym
MUFC legends Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville already own hotels in Manchester, now the most-followed man on Instagram – who already owns 6 hotels in cities including Lisbon, New York, Paris – has unveiled his own offering overlooking Piccadilly Gardens and just 5km from his former workplace Old Trafford
Ronaldo has a very special connection to the city as a former Premier League star forward for Manchester United who scored 119 goals and won nine trophies to become a firm fan favourite. His new 11-storey, four-star “high-end lifestyle hotel” will have 151 bedrooms, a ground floor bar and cafe, basement gym, and roof terrace and bar.
The project is subject to planning permission but if all falls in place, Ronaldo would join the likes of former United players Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs in owning a hotel in the city. This won’t be Ronaldo’s first hotel however as he plans to unveil Pestana CR7 Manchester in 2023 after the success of hotels in Madeira, Lisbon, Madrid, New York, Marrakesh and Paris.
