With the NBA season suspended because of Covid-19, the four-time MVP winner ‘King’ James has turned to social media to show how he takes care of his most valued asset, his body

After starting the 2019-20 season with an LA Lakers franchise-equalling 17-2, LeBron James surpassed Kobe Bryant at third in the NBA’s all-time regular season scoring list on January 25, the day before the Lakers legend died in a helicopter crash. It’s a never-ending debate about who is the greatest basketball player ever – Michael Jordan, LeBron James or Kobe Bryant?

When James recently revealed the title and logo of the Space Jam sequel, it revived debates between fans of the trio. Titled Space Jam: A New Legacy as a follow-up to the 1996 movie starring Michael Jordan, the 2021 release will feature the L-Train playing around with the Looney Tunes gang.

With the NBA season suspended because of the Covid-19 pandemic. “King” James has turned to social media to share his positive attitude to inspire followers, including his beast-mode work-from-home training.

As the NBA’s highest-paid player for the past six years, the four-time MVP winner is known for the meticulous way he takes care of his most valued asset, his body. During the coronavirus lockdown, he has been working out four to five days a week at home – sometimes with his entire family. His social media posts show him training at home with free weights and sometimes all by himself as he pushes himself to the limit.

James follows strict guidelines regarding nutrition, training, stretching and meditation. So what fitness tips we can pick up from his stay-at-home workouts? Here is a breakdown to help you stay in shape.

Let’s start with one of his favourite cardio exercises, the skipping rope workout. As he can’t access the VersaClimber at home, he uses a traditional skipping rope to push himself. Let yourself go and learn about the different skipping techniques. The 30+ minute sessions are perfect to keep blood pumping and help to increase fat loss while confined to home.

LeBron shared a video from his exhausting core workout using the battle ropes. He uses the ropes to strengthen his core and build up stamina in his arms. After the arm exercise, he shows off the Pallof press, an exercise that you can easily replicate at home with the help of a resistance band. A combination of these two exercises will leave you drenched in sweat.
