Aries Susanti, the Indonesian speed climber, is so quick fans call her ‘Super-Woman’, and her Instagram feed gains more followers with each competition

If you don’t know who Aries Susanti is, you are missing out on an idol in the making. Reasonably new on the sports scene, she is rapidly climbing to the top of the leader boards. Soon, she’ll be as popular worldwide as she is in her home country of Indonesia.

She is nicknamed Spider-Woman

This 24-year-old earned the nickname “Spider-Woman” for her speed and agility climbing up walls. After originating with fans back home, the endearment spread throughout the world of competition. The young athlete says she is up to the challenge of the name, and adds the moniker is for all of the women on her team.

She started with trees

 

Like many children, Aries Susanti’s first athletic challenges were climbing trees and running races. She liked to push herself further, which she still does to this day. It is her love of climbing that made others take notice: her junior high school teacher introduced her to the sport. And from there, Susanti has literally climbed her way to the top, leaving competitors in her wake and gaining fans at every step of her path to victory. She is an inspiration to children back home and around the world, showing them that if you put your heart into what you do, you can reach your goals. Susanti has gone from climbing trees to aspiring for gold, all by the age of 24.
