Fans of Glasshouse in IFC now have another must-visit destination in Kowloon: Glasshouse Greenery. The all-day dining destination offers homely Asian cuisine with a Western twist, for instance, the sweet and sour pork burger (HK$138). It came with bell pepper, sweet and sour sauce, and crispy fries and, although we enjoyed it, there is a reason why the popular dish is usually served with rice.

The Peking duck pizza (HK$158) with barbecue Peking duck, leeks, mozzarella and cucumber was delicious. We loved the thin and crispy base, and the cheese went surprisingly well with the duck. The platter of cola beef skewers served with roti and satay sauce (HK$128) was also a winner, with the sweet yet savoury marination blending well with the succulent meat. The lobster salad (HK$228) with fresh mango, strawberry and green apple was as refreshing as it sounds, offering a generous amount of fresh lobster and mango, with the apple served in a light mayo-style sauce.

Our favourite, however, was the Hainan chicken risotto – three yellow chicken, kale, risotto (HK$148) – where East and West blended magnificently. The free-range chicken is slowly poached with shallots, garlic, ginger, lemongrass and a special spice blend, and is served over the creamy risotto. We also loved the Wagyu char siu and foie gras rice (HK$188) with fried eggs, pickles and teriyaki sauce. The char siu marinated Australian flank steak is slowly cooked then finished on the grill to give it a nice crust. It is served with the pan-fried foie gras and eggs sunny side up. What more could you ask for?

For drinks, we went for the Greenery Secret (HK$148) – a visually stunning, unique blend of honey caviar and vacuum-infused cucumber, elderflower liqueur with rosemary and bubbles. If the weather permits, the garden terrace by the seafront is the perfect place for lunch or dinner.
