Who is Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis’ ex-girlfriend Abbey Wilson? She moved to Mexico, had twin daughters with him and is friends with the Kardashians – but why did he accuse her of kidnapping?
The pair met when Wilson won Francis’ show The Search for the Hottest Girl in America; they had a sex tape stolen in 2013 and split in 2021, with Wilson claiming Francis had sexually assaulted her
As 2024 draws to a close, there’s one last docuseries you cannot afford to miss: Peacock’s latest offering, Girls Gone Wild: The Untold Story. This damning exposé puts the disgraced life of franchise creator Joe Francis back in the spotlight, and it’s every bit as disturbing as you’d imagine – if not more.
Wilson won Francis’ show and began dating him; she was 18 at the time, and he was in his mid-30s. They eventually moved to Mexico, where they had twin daughters Athena and Alexandria in 2014. They never married.
Before the girls’ eighth birthday, however, their parents split acrimoniously. Wilson claimed Francis had raped her – in the documentary, Francis is heard saying, “You can’t rape your partner” – and said he also trapped her and the children in Mexico. Eventually, Wilson was able to take the couple’s daughters back to the US, where they settled in Oklahoma.
So just who is Abbey Wilson, who was on VH1’s Couples Therapy with Joe Francis but apparently wants nothing to do with him? Here’s what to know.
She’s an influencer
Abbey Wilson is currently a social media influencer with 39,500 followers on Instagram. She mainly posts content about her family, friends, fashion and lifestyle, and is often seen holidaying with her daughters on yachts and at fancy resorts.
