When Hutong closed its doors last year after more than 18 years atop One Peking, it left a void which, thankfully, was soon filled – by it reopening at the new H Zentre, successfully transplanting its original charm alongside sister restaurant Aqua. True to its name, a replica of an old brick-lined alleyway – a traditional feature of northern Chinese cities – serves as the restaurant’s entrance.

Signature dishes include the flaming Peking duck, which is marinated in a rich blend of Sichuan spices before roasting and finished with a flambé at the table for added spectacle, while weekend brunches feature a generous selection of the restaurant’s appetisers, signature dishes and desserts.
