  • Immersive exhibition Proof, which marks BTS’ 10th anniversary and celebrates the rise of the Korean supergroup, is coming to Hong Kong for a month
  • Opening on June 16, it features behind-the-scenes photos, videos, band outfits and merchandise exclusive to the Hong Kong staging of the international show

June 16 sees the opening of “Proof”, an immersive exhibition at K11 Musea in Hong Kong that covers the first 10 years of the world’s biggest band.

Hong Kong is the fifth city to host the exhibition about the South Korean boy band, after Seoul, Busan, Tokyo and Los Angeles.

The multi-room walk-through exhibition in Tsim Sha Tsui will run for a month and will provide visitors with an immersive experience featuring behind-the-scenes photos, videos, outfits from the band’s decade-long career, and merchandise made exclusively for the Hong Kong show.

Although the set-up of the exhibition has been similar in each of the cities in which it has been staged, the one in Hong Kong will have the most designated areas where visitors are allowed to take photos. Photo taking was banned in the fully sold out staging of the exhibition in Seoul and Busan.

10 years of BTS: the biggest moments of the K-pop superstars

BTS are unquestionably the biggest K-pop boy band in history, six of their albums having reached number one on the Billboard 200 list and six of their songs having made the Hot 100 list on Billboard.

They were nominated for a Grammy for best pop duo/group performance in 2021 and again in 2022, and for best music video in 2022.

BTS announced in June 2022 that they would suspend making music as a group, as some members pursue solo projects and others fulfil their military service – compulsory in South Korea.

Their fans’ enthusiasm hasn’t waned in the break, with their music video Dynamite, which was uploaded in August 2020, reaching 1.7 billion views on YouTube this month. The band have six music videos that have more than a billion views.

The exhibition will be held at K11 Musea from June 16 to July 16.

Fans will be given an hour to view the exhibition, based on the time slot they choose when buying the ticket.

Ticket prices for the show range between HK$198 (US$25) and HK$248. For ticket sales and details, see the K11 Musea website.
