It may be hot in Hong Kong this weekend, but there are plenty of cool things to do, from trying out an Olympic sport, chilling out with a singing bowl or gong bath session, to floating in a relaxing pod.

Check out these five ways to spend healthy time.

1. Take a trial fencing class

Have you caught fencing fever after watching Hong Kong’s Vivian Kong Man-wai and Cheung Ka-long win gold in the sport at the Paris Games? If you are keen to try it for yourself for its many mental and physical health benefits, enrol in a trial class this weekend.

Hong Kong Fencing Master offers 90-minute sessions for teens and adults on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings. The cost is HK$680 (US$87), and includes the loan of necessary gear. There are also special “taster” classes for children as young as three that run for just under an hour. The cost is HK$430. Click here for details.

2. Singing bowl and gong bath sessions

By the end of the working week, you might feel like tuning out all that stress and anxiety. Book yourself into a Friday evening singing bowl sound bath from 6.45pm to 8pm, or a Saturday afternoon floating sound bath from 3pm to 4.15pm at Tune In Wellness in Wan Chai.
